The home energy efficiency loan

The following Manitoba Hydro customers may qualify for financing through The Home Energy Efficiency Loan (HEEL) if:

They are the owner(s) of the property in which the upgrade is taking place.
The home is the owner’s primary residence (or the primary residence of the owner’s tenant).
The residence is detached or semi-detached.
The Mobile home is on permanent foundations with a permanent water supply.
The owners of the condominium unit are individually metered through Manitoba Hydro.

Financing is calculated at an Annual Interest Rate of 7.6% (O.A.C.) for the first 5 years and a maximum loan amount of $7500.00. Your financing amount is added to your monthly Hydro bill each month for easy payment.

Applying for the HEEL

How to Start

If you are interested in applying for financing through The HEEL program the first thing to do is to inform Green Brand so we can help you with the application process and get you a quote for the work requested. Below is a link to the HEEL Application for you to fill out. Upon completion of Part 1 you will need to scan and send the form to Green Brand so we can fill out Part 2 and send it in to Manitoba Hydro for approval.

Once approved the specified work can then be completed and Part 3 of the application can be signed and given to Green Brand for processing. Green Brand will provide Manitoba Hydro with all documents required for processing and your loan payments will be added to your Hydro bill.

Helpful Notes: How to fill out part 1

All owners on the title of the home must be listed at the top of the Agreement and must sign Part I of the Agreement.

All owner(s) must initial wherever stated on Part I of the application.

Employer information must be filled out for each individual owner - If the owner is retired, provide that information in the space for the employer.
